From the President.......
The working bee last Saturday went well, thanks to a wonderfully congenial group of members: John Hempenstall (as always), Susan Walters, Catherine Cregan, Stephen Henningham, Lesley Gunson, Maureen Copping, Meg Price, Di Hawke, Chris Sheen, Mark Sheen, David Hoffman, Nikki Riszko, Andrew Struik and Rick Nehmy. Thank you all!
Don’t forget to bring in presents for Barnardo’s to include in Christmas hampers: food items or presents for teenage boys such as t-shirts or vouchers for movies or sports stores would be very welcome. Please place them under the Christmas tree.
Give yourself the chance of a Christmas treat by buying tickets in our Christmas raffle – the hamper is first prize but there are other good options too. You have to be in it to win it! Our club and Multiple Sclerosis Limited will benefit from the money raised.

Dear Hilda Lirsch,
What is the single most important thing that our partnership can do during the session to improve our outcomes?
To quote numerous Aussie politicians: "I do not accept the premise of your question." The single most important thing that your partnership can do should occur BETWEEN sessions; that is bidding practice.
Ideally you or your partner should subscribe to a bridge magazine (for example, Australian Bridge) which incorporates bidding contests, so that you can compare your bidding judgement against that of the experts. This will permit your partnership to improve its bidding system and/or bidding style.
NOTE: There is no Master the Basics on Dec 6 due to the Christmas Party
Master the Basics – cement your Bridge skills

- December 11th & 14th – Higher level opening bids

Notice for all Supervised Players
December 2017 - January 2018
Supervised sessions will take place, as normal, on Monday 18th and Thursday 21st December.
Following those dates Barb, Jeanette and Ann will take a break over the summer period. However, supervised sessions will continue throughout, but without the lesson beforehand.
There will be a volunteer to look after you, an experienced player who will be there to help organise the session and to assist you.
These sessions are designed to give you lots of play practice over the summer period.
Monday evenings will still begin at 7pm and Thursday mornings will commence with duplicate at 10am.
It is important that you arrive at the Club and are seated 15 minutes before the start of the session, so the Director can arrange the movement.
Monday at 7pm Thursday at 10am
25th December 2017 Closed 28th December 2017
1st January – Club Closed 4th January
8th January 11th January

Please note, all the current ‘lost property’ items (e.g. glasses, glass cases, Ford car keys??!!, etc.) in the Managers Office will be donated to charity after 8th December. If you wish to claim any item you feel is yours, please do so prior to 8th December. Thank you.
Parking in the Clubhouse Car Park
Can all members be considerate when parking in the Clubhouse car park. That is, try to park well within the marked yellow guidelines, park close to the kerb and do not double park behind other cars restricting their access on exit. This is particularly necessary on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings when the car park is quite full.
Thank you for your consideration.
Kerry and Keith
