From the President.......

Our Christmas raffle was drawn this morning. The winners were:

Hamper – Heather Kirkby

Christmas Cake – Daya Wickramatunga

Bottle of Whisky - Sarah Heal

Bottle of Port – Stephen Henningham

Crackers (Bon-Bons) – Tony Webb

Chocolates – Tom Flynn

Thank you very much to Adrienne Stephens who has again put this raffle together.

Thank you to all the donors of gifts for Barnardos and thank you very much to Janet Kahler for her work on this donation.

Thank you to another group of dealers – those who have dealt the boards for the Youth Championships in January 2018.  Another job well done.

A group will dismantle the tree and the decorations, on Saturday 30 December, at 10am (earlier than I had suggested).

Don’t forget, you can play bridge at CBC on Boxing Day in the afternoon session commencing at 1.00pm.

Merry Christmas to all and I look forward to seeing you in the club in 2018.

Best wishes,

Pam

The Google Calendar and PDF version are available on the website.   These could not have been produced without valued contributions from Pam Crichton, John Brockwell, Peter Giles, Liz van der Hor, Kerry Butcher, David Hoffman, Niek van Vucht and Ian Robinson. My thanks and appreciation go to all of them, especially John Brockwell for his efforts developing articles and initial calendar, and Kerry Butcher for the huge effort updating the membership list. Their contributions and/or proof-reading are much appreciated but in the final analysis any errors are mine and for them I apologise.

Monday evenings will still begin at 7pm and Thursday mornings will commence with duplicate at 10am.

It is important that you arrive at the Club and are seated 15 minutes before the start of the session, so the Director can arrange the movement.

Keith’s bridge playing experiences :) :)

I was playing last Monday morning and I thought our partnership had a misunderstanding – I assumed my partner knew what she was doing!

Two boards later, she asked me if I knew the difference between a serial killer and a bridge partner? I said no to which she responded with, “you can reason with a serial killer.”

And to all from the Managers of the Canberra Bridge Club, we wish you a wonderful Christmas and New Year Festive Season.

Kind regards

Kerry and Keith
