Newsletter - 20 September 2019
From the President:
Thank you very much to the hard workers at our Working Bee last Saturday:
Anne Baldwin, Margaret Bourke, Kerry Butcher, Maureen Copping, Catherine Cregan, Tim Davis, Michele Grant, Simon Grant, Lesley Gunson, John Hempenstall, Terri Henderson, Stephen Henningham, Rick Nehmy, Judy Netting, Anne Powell, Sue Pushack, Perelle Scales, Allen Scerri, Susan Scerri, Nick Vonthethoff, Susan Walters and Tony Webb.
What a team! They fitted in tidying of bridge equipment, cleaning and gardening in the midst of health problems, grandchildren’s sport and their generally busy lives.
For our newer players with < 2 masterpoints and < 5 masterpoints: don’t forget to sign up for one session on Sunday 29 September.
For the more experienced upwards: BFACT Gala pairs for two sessions on 29 September, with category prizes.
I often thank members for specific jobs they do, but as the committee year is ending, I thank all committee members for their myriad of jobs and responsibilities over a year: Ian Robinson, Lyn Turner, Sue Pillans, John Brockwell, Cathi Bywater, John Hempenstall, Richard Hills, Claire Hughes, Margaret Kyburz, Patricia McDonald, Perelle Scales and Mary Tough. The club has been very lucky to have them.
See you at the AGM on Tuesday 25 September at 5.30pm.
The Working Bee uncovered chewing gum that had been deposited in inappropriate places.
Please place chewing gum in the many rubbish bins available in the club.
It is highly appreciated if players could pay table money with notes or as few coins as possible. The weight of coins makes the banking difficult, due to heavy bags tearing and difficulty carrying.
Metal Name Badges

Because she is definitely plotting something.
