From the President:

The club was humming last Sunday morning with 40 participants at another Kantar lesson. Thank you to Ian Robinson and Jodi Tutty who are the inspiration, and currently the teachers, for these lessons. Also thanks to Perelle Scales, Ella Beer and Margaret Kyburz, who are working behind the scenes. Another session this coming Sunday with Jodi.

Best wishes,

Tupperware Fundraiser for CBC & Barnardos

Emily Inglis is running a one-week fundraiser for our Club and our Club charity Barnardos. 30% of every purchase will be donated. What better incentive to get a head start on Christmas gift shopping whilst supporting the Club?

There’s much more than just items for your kitchen!

All orders must be received & paid for by 5pm Sunday 24th November directly to Emily to place your order. Any order within the dates that mention's the CBC Fundraiser will qualify - you don't need to be a member, so spread the word to your friends to place their orders in support of our Club.

Browse the Tupperware Catalogue and Specials Brochure, or get a copy from the Office. To place an order, contact Emily Inglis on 0431-929-379 or register to the CBC Tupperware Fundraiser online.

Items purchased will be available for pick-up at Canberra Bridge Club, and you will be contacted when they have arrived.

Working Bee

Saturday 30 November 9:30am, the Club needs helpers to setup Christmas decorations and other things. Please write your name on the sign-up list if you are able to come and help, to let us know roughly how many to expect.

All levels of ability are appreciated – whether you are able to climb ladders, or just advise on decorative positioning whilst sitting in a chair! Show some Spirit and lend a hand or an eye.

Southern Cross Community Benefits Program double bonus value

Members are reminded that they can give an early Christmas present to CBC. By eating and drinking at any of the Southern Cross Clubs during November and having assigned their Community Benefits to CBC ensures, that we receive double value for this month (November).

Assigning your benefits to CBC can be facilitated at any of the Southern Cross Clubs, or online direct and/or via our managers. If you are not already a member please consider joining Southern Cross Club and your family and friends can also assign their benefits to CBC as well.

This program serves as a very effective outside source of aid to CBC and very much equates to Santa coming early.

Triathlon Fundraiser for Barnardos – last chance to support

Tim Mather is participating in the swimming leg of the Sri Chinmoy Triple Triathalon to be held in Canberra on 17th November. If members would like to support the Bridge Club’s charity, Barnardos, by sponsoring him for a win, place, or kilometres swum it would be greatly appreciated. Tim will swim 1.5kms in Lake Ginninderra, 3.5kms in Lake Burley Griffin and 1.2kms in Lake Tuggeranong.

Thank you in anticipation of a successful outcome.

Unknown Membership Bank Deposit

If you have made a $35 deposit to our Westpac Bank Account without a name or ABF number, please contact the office. It appears to be from an IMB Bank.

Lighter Moments

Late one night a burglar broke into a house and while he was sneaking around he heard a voice say, "Jesús is watching you." He looked around and saw nothing. He kept on creeping and again heard, "Jesús is watching you."
In a dark corner, he saw a cage with a parrot inside. The burglar asked the parrot, "Was it you who said Jesús is watching me?"
The parrot replied, "Yes."
Relieved, the burglar asked, "What is your name?"
The parrot said, "Clarence."
The burglar said, "That's a stupid name for a parrot. What idiot named you Clarence?"
The parrot answered, "The same idiot that named the rottweiler Jesús."
