The Australia-Wide Open Pairs has a rich history that goes back more than 40 years, bringing together thousands of players from all around the country.

Each player will receive a souvenir booklet on the day, describing our recommendations for how the bidding and play should have gone. After the results are in, there will also be a second personalised booklet available on our web page, looking at every board to see how your bidding and play compares against our recommended results.

More prizes than ever

Every participant will receive a range of exclusive discounts at our book store. In addition there are over $4,000 worth of CD & magazine prizes for the top 25 pairs (both Open and Restricted).

There will also be book prizes awarded to pairs for specific achievements during the event (for example, bidding and making a tricky game). The conditions for these spot prizes will be announced in the souvenir booklet.

The top ten pairs nationwide will also receive beautiful Australia-Wide pens, engraved with your name, and all pairs scoring over 54% (scored across the field) will receive Red Masterpoints.

Australia’s largest event

The event is matchpointed across a field of approximately 3,200 players. This means that when you look at your results on our web page, you will see your score on each board compared with over 800 tables from around Australia. If you get a top board against that many pairs, you'll really deserve it (and you'll probably find yourself with a book prize).
