President's Message
New Chairs arriving at the Club next Tuesday!
The club has recently purchased 140 new chairs to supplement and replace our existing seating. The new chairs are very similar in style to our current chairs, with a square back and sliders in charcoal, ensuring consistency in comfort and appearance throughout the club.
Of the new chairs, 128 have arms, matching the majority of our current seating, while 12 are armless, providing options for members who prefer or require them. This mix ensures accessibility and comfort for all members. For context, see the attached picture of a chair with arms, but in the charcoal colour - this is the same style as the new chairs we are receiving.
Pull up a chair and enjoy - your new seat will be ready next Tuesday!
And don’t worry - the old chairs are still doing their job until then.
If you prefer an armless chair for your sessions, please contact Elizabeth, or the Director.

House Sub-Committee – Seeking Expressions of Interest
After around three years of dedicated service, our current House Sub-Committee is ready to take a well-earned break! We sincerely thank them for the quiet, behind-the-scenes work they have done for the Club.
We are now seeking expressions of interest from members who may like to be involved in the ongoing care of our clubrooms. The House Sub-Committee generally focuses on maintenance and improvements, gardening, keeping an eye on the premises, and occasionally helping organise working bees. The Sub-Committee works closely with the Manager and provides advice and recommendations to the Committee as needed.
If you would like to know more about what is involved, or if you would like to put your hand up to be considered for the House Sub-Committee please get in touch with me, I would love to hear from you.

Griffin Trophy
One of the Club’s Honour Board events is the Griffin Trophy, which has traditionally been awarded to an individual player, rather than a pair or team.
From 2025 onwards, the Club has decided to reinstate this trophy, with it being awarded each year to the player who accumulates the highest number of green points from CBC competitions over the course of the calendar year.
We are delighted to announce that the 2025 Griffin Trophy winner is Jacques Cherbuin.
Congratulations, Jacques, on a fine achievement!
