President's Message

Yesterday for the first time since before the pandemic the Barry Turner room (BTR) hosted three different duplicate sessions - the Butler and two Mitchell movements. Welcome back to all recent arrivals, the atmosphere was great with levels of conversation rising between movements.

In May we are proposing to conduct our usual “Mentoring in May” programme. If you are interested in nominating for either being mentored or acting as a mentor, please fill in the forms you will find under the television screen in the BTR in due course and place them in the box provided. This programme matches experienced players with others who wish to learn more about our game. Novice players can learn to become better players and more experienced players can be mentored by competition level champions of which CBC are blessed to be well endowed. No matter what your level please be encouraged to participate - either as a mentor or a mentee!  Anne Fleming is again coordinating this and forms will be available shortly.

Lighter Moments

Archibald dreaming: the art book I purchased did not include a final chapter.  You draw your own conclusion!

Where do bad rainbows go?

  • To prism but it's only a light sentence

I usually do self portraits where one wall meets a window. I am in a rut though: I keep painting myself into a corner.

Thanks to Nicole, Barbara and Pamela for washing the tablecloths!
