Mentoring in May
Thank you to everyone who is participating in Mentoring in May. This is a long held club tradition that dates back many years. It helps to grow greater confidence with your game. Please all members have extra patience at the table when there is more explanation than you might be used to. This is a growing experience for us all and bridge is the winner! Thanks again to Anne Fleming for managing the program.
Our weekly sessions are almost the same as last week.

Club Charity Nominations
Each year the Committee considers nominations from members for a new charity for the next financial year. The Club has raised over $1,400 for its current charity, Print Handicapped Radio of the ACT (Radio 1RPH), plus money from Tim's current walk. Over the past few years, the Club has supported Beyond Blue, Barnardos Australia and the Multiple Sclerosis Society. Proceeds from fundraising events and the produce table all go towards supporting the charity. If you have a favourite charity that you would like to have considered, please email the Secretary by 31 May.

Upcoming Events
2023 ABF Australia Wide Teams Club Knockout - the 2nd Annual Event
This is a monthly interclub competition on RealBridge between clubs around Australia. Starting in June, it runs for 6 months on the second Tuesday night of each month. Our club can enter one team in each of the following 4 divisions:
- Less than 50 masterpoints
- Less than 100 masterpoints
- Less than 750 masterpoints
- Open
Last year CBC was very successful, taking out the <750 masterpoints event.
For the three restricted teams (<50, <100 and <750) please enter online. You can enter as a team or as a pair. If you enter as a pair the club will try and match you with team-mates. Entries close on 16 May. If we have more than one team, we will hold a runoff event on Real Bridge on Tuesday afternoon, 30 May (and if required 23 May depending on the numbers of entries). Any number of team substitutes are permitted provided they fall within the requisite masterpoints.
The Open team will be selected via the Barry Turner Teams running on 3 Thursday nights starting 18 May.
Cost: The club will cover the entry fees for the Australia WIde Teams Club Knockout for the selected teams. For the runoff events, normal RB table money will be charged.
