Club Charity
The club is seeking nominations for the Club Charity for the 2026-27 Financial Year.
This year, our club supported Dementia Australia and has so far raised $3,685.35 to support an organisation that represents so many impacts on the CBC community.
Dementia Australia have been given fundraising updates through the year and are extremely grateful for our support – please be extra generous as we push through the final days of our efforts for them!

The committee will consider all nominations, but in particular will consider charities which: are focussed on impact in the Canberra, ACT and surrounds; and, reflect CBC’s values of social inclusion, participation and connection.
Community Rewards Program
A reminder that the Canberra Bridge Club (CBC) participates in the Canberra Southern Cross Club (CSCC) Community Rewards Program. Through this initiative, CSCC members can nominate the CBC to receive 7.5% of the money they spend on food and beverages at participating CSCC venues.
How the Program Works
- The Contribution: For every dollar you spend on food and drinks at CSCC locations, 7.5 cents goes directly to the Canberra Bridge Club.
- Earning Cap: The Club can earn up to a maximum of $20,000 per financial year through this program.
- Venue Eligibility: Participating venues include CSCC Woden, Tuggeranong, Jamison, Yacht Club, and Snapper & Co.

Workshop
The next Workshop with Will Jenner-O'Shea is on Sunday 19th of July at 10am. This workshop concentrates on:

♥ Improve Your Signals. Know Which Suit Your Partner Wants, Or Doesn’t Want
♥ Counting. Count Declarer’s Points and Tricks.
The cost is $60 and includes a delicious morning tea and lunch.

Due to technical issues with the current CBC website, online lessons with Will can be accessed through the North Shore Bridge Club link below. The next set of lessons will be on "Reverses", part 1 on Sunday and part 2 on Thursday.

Cardplay Wednesdays!
"Last night, a good sized group attended the first of Steve's new series of monthly lessons.
We spent an hour and a half learning how to play a long suit to advantage.
As usual, Steve's instructions were light but devastatingly effective.
We all enjoyed the lesson and can't wait till the next one.

HELP WANTED
Youth Triathlon - 27th Sept to 1st Oct (Sunday - Thursday)
The Youth Triathlon (pairs, teams and individual competition) is being held at Canberra Bridge Club before Canberra in Bloom. We’re looking for help in the following ways:
- Hosts for players and possibly their chaperones (if you have already contacted me about hosting, I will be in touch after the ANC)
- Help with providing meals for the hungry players
Cootamundra Congress - 29 & 30th August
Looking for experienced players/mentors to play with a Youth player at the Cootamundra Congress. Enjoy the spicy bidding!

YOUTH EVENTS
On Friday June 26, 16 pairs played in the BFACT Online Youth Butler Pairs. There were players from SA, VIC, NSW, QLD and ACT. Congratulations to Jess and Byron who came third.
Next Youthish Night is on Friday July 17.
Next RealBridge Youthish Night is on July 24.

Subsidised accommodation is being organised for Youthish players (youth players, and chaperones) to attend the 2026 Cootamundra Congress.
