President's Message
Australian National Championships (ANC)
As the Australian National Championships continue, I would like to congratulate all of our members who have enjoyed success (see results below) and wish the very best to those still competing. It has been wonderful to see so many excellent performances throughout the tournament.
Congratulations to all members who represented the ACT in the Open, Women's, Seniors and Youth Interstate Teams. A special congratulations to the Open, Seniors and Youth Teams (and their Captains) on reaching their respective finals. A special mention goes to the Youth Team, whose achievement is particularly noteworthy, being the first ACT Youth Team to reach the final in 15 years. Congratulations also to Jess He on receiving the Rising Star Award at the Victory Dinner.
I would also like to thank the many volunteers who have assisted BFACT in hosting the Championships. Events of this size simply could not run without the generosity of those who give their time and energy behind the scenes. In particular, thank you to Jenny Bell and Belinda Moss for their tireless work on the Partnership Desk. Matching partnerships and assisting players throughout the Championships is no easy task, and they have undertaken this role with exceptional dedication and good humour. Thank you also to everyone involved in organising the Victory Dinner. The catering was outstanding, the decorations looked fabulous, and the evening was a great success.
To all who volunteered during the Championships, thank you!
